Sellers Remorse

In a moment of weakness, I sold to an acquaintance a very nice 700 Classic in 6mm Remington.

Had awesome lumber, and shot "light's out".

Wish he would sell it back to me, but so far....no go :(

Regards, Dave.

I do not live in the past, I only look to what is next, not much of a life if you go around regretting every decision, good or bad learn from it and move on, bin there done that.

I got invited to hunt deer at a deer camp for a week. I was young and didn't own a rifle so my dad took me to a gun show to buy me one. I ended up liking the looks of a Browning safari grade in 30-06 excellent cond. So my dad made a deal with the guy and we got it for 600 bucks. Used it for my first deer hunts that week and shot two deer with it including a 8 pointer. The following summer I thought about getting a newer more modern rifle logic being at the time that the Browning was too old. So I foolishly took it down to a local gun shop and traded it in for a newer gun, I think I got 400 bucks for it. After a few years I got into guns and did a little research into the browning and found out what I had and what it is worth. Besides the luck I had with that rifle on my first deer hunt and getting ripped trading it in, I realize that was one of the biggest mistakes I ever made.

What Rifle do you regret selling the most?.

Not the one that got away, or the one you should have bought......
The one you had to sell to buy your first house / get you through the lean times, or the one that was passed down and you foolishly sold.

It's a tough pick for me,
But I think it would have to be my unmolested M700 classic in 35 Whelen. 1/2 moa out to 300y.

LMAO! That would be nearly the exact rifle I have sellers remorse over! Except my whelen was in The Classic CDL.
Mine shot like a house on fire as well! The only issue with it was the chamber was cut poorly and the reamer had grooved 6 equal ridges axially! When I sized my cases, you could clearly see the reamer ridges!

With a chamber like that, it never should have shot so well! But it did!

my 1895 45-70. I traded it for a beautiful ruger 77(200th year of american liberty) 30-06 to match my 25-06 but miss the 45-70 alot. was such a spendid rifle to carry

While the Martini I mentioned before tops the list of rifles I wish I still had in my collection, my biggest regret is the sporter Ross m10 in .35 Epps, that was just one cool gun in a unique cartridge. If the buyer, a fellow CGNer, wants to sell it back at a bit of a profit... ;)

The only one I truly regretted selling I was luckily able to buy back a few years later.

Still got 'er in the safe as I type this.

Of all the wierd ones, now that I think of it, my handi survivor in 223... the plastic stock was crap.... it was wicked front heavy with the bull barrel and awkward as hell to carry.....

My first 3 shot group with it fit under a nickel and I shot several smaller than that..... now that I reload and see the stock options available I wish I still had it.... would have been a great toy and was worth more than the 250 I flogged it for.....

i had a winchester model 70 in a 3006 lightweight. it came from the factory with a 20 inch barrel. that one i wish i had kept.

Never sold any… and don’t intend to sell any. Off topic but back in the day I regretted selling my mint 1979 “bandit” Trans Am.
