Sellers Remorse

Tomorrow, I say "goodbye" to one of the rareest and nicest SKS's you will ever find. However, it belongs with a caring collector, not in the locker of a shooter:
1953 Izhevsk. non-refurbished, unfired, and mint condition.

you will regret when the sks market will dry out with nothing left ...

I am keeping one non-refurbished 1954 from the early 2008 IZH import. I might buy a nice laminate shooter SKS. Enough for me. I am more of an enthusiast than a collector. A non-refurbished, unfired 1953 Izhevsk is just too special and belongs with a collector.

But, you are right, alot of sh*t for sale now. The days of the super nice SKS is OVER. As for the market drying out... I doubt it. Westrifle brings them in shipments of 2000 each. They've been doing this for years, and they clearly have access to a steady supply. Remember, 2.5-2.7 million Russian SKS's were made. There are plenty left.

As silly as this might sound, I regret selling my Remington 770. It had a pretty crumby bolt at first, but once I got used to it follow up shots where smooth.

Everyone had issues with the accuracy of 770s, with factory 100gr (243) I could get fairly steady 1" groups. Hand loads brought that down to just under half inch using 87gr V-max and 80gr FMJ.

I had a centennial model 700 30-06 spr for a while, only one to hit this region, and I traded it for a old win 670 30-06 and a win p-17 in 300wm.
been kickin my own ass ever since. traded both those rifles for a luepold vx-3 boone and crockett in gun metal finish, quit making trades with drinking buddies after that.
on a good note the scope worked great on the 700 lss 300 rum my brother bought me for my birthday.
