Anyone shooting Sellier & Bellot's handgun ammo (.45 and 9mm)?

Any comment on quality and price?

Thankz!

The only ammo I have ever got a Failure To Fire with, the primers are hard as rocks. But perhaps I just got a bad couple of boxes.

Most of my shooting is with my reloads but I have used S&B's ammo in different calibers a number of times.

I have always found ( in my experience ) that their ammo is very well made, consistent & accurate. I like it.

Also, tends to be a little on the hot side which is fine with me.

I use S&B 9mm 115 grain. Have never had a problem. It may be on the hot side, but my cZs like it.

+1 for what's already been said about the 45 - quite hot, but very reliable in my HK USP Compact, my Para-Ordnance P14.45, and my girlfriend's Ruger P345. The P345 is junk with any ammo, and it stovepiped a few rounds (as usual), but the other two were flawless.

Definitely noticed a difference shooting it in the USP Compact - hot even compared to Hydra-Shoks, but not unpleasantly so. Also +1 on the dirt... but for the price, and the fact that it was the only brand of ball available for a short time in my neck of the woods, it was good stuff. And, as mentioned, the brass is great for my reloads.

Your girlfriend may have her recoil spring in backwards. I have never had a FTF of anykind with factory ammo in my P345 and I have shot a few thousand rounds with it.

You guy's really think S&B .45 is hot? I've always considered it kind of average in terms of energy. S&B lists it at 853 fps (371 fpe) which is sort of middle of the road. I know most guys load down for competition and some of the mainstream brands run around 835 fps, but on the other hand something like American Eagle 230gr fmj lists a muzzle velocity of 890 fps (404 fpe). That I consider to be on the hotter end of things, and you can feel it when you shoot it. Regardless, S&B is great stuff in every caliber I have tried.

I've shot S&B as well as American Eagle 9mm out of my father's K-100 and so far it has been 100% reliable with the S&B, unlike the American Eagle stuff, which produced an unacceptable number of stoppages.
