I have a Baikal MP221, also knows as the "poor man's double"...... ;)
I bought it for a big bear hunt and general cool factor, but now have my eyes and wallet on other things so was going to list it. The issue is how? For the average buyer, I'm guessing that there is a bit of concern over proper barrel regulation and load choice so there are two options as I see it:

Option 1
Leave it sighted in for Federal Fusion 300gr (available everywhere) with the stock trigger (9lbs of gravel :) ) and post two separate ads in the EE
"Baikal MP221 .45-70 for $$$ "

+

".45-70 dies , assorted bullets for $$"

Option 2
"Baikal MP221 .45-70, custom triggers, scope mount , sighted & regulated @ 75yd for 400gr Barnes SSP, load X, powder, bullets & dies for $$$$"

I have the dies, bullets, etc. and the trigger job is a minor gunsmith effort. Option 2 is really about my time, which as fun as hearing that .45 cal go BOOM, is worth something!

Thoughts?

"As is"... will always net you more money, guns are not like a "fixer upper" house... the money you dump into them disappears into a dark black vortex...

Why get rid of it? I've got a Merkel so I'm not exactly in the market, but for the money and availability of ammo I'd hold onto it unless I was completely sick of it. And keep in mind that once you sell it you will regret it and you'll be looking for another.

Here I was worried that after being away for a week there would be a great debate I'd missed..... Stock it is! Maybe a little love to that trigger first though.

It is a fun double and hugely capable and affordable, but I want some other guns more and hope to pay for a spring roe deer hunt too.
