Guys/gals: I have been asked by a guy at work to help him sell a collection of handguns his father had. I have my ATT but I was wondering if I could list them here? How would I go about selling them ,what would be involved? Maybe I should just tell him to take them to an firearm auction place I just don't know?? How do I send them to a buyer? Through the mail??
Before you guys start asking me what this guys got,I need to get answers on selling them and I will probably post a list with pic's ,I dont have alot of experience selling hand guns.
Any help would be appreciated

Yeah you can list them here in the exchange forum.

Read the rules first, you must give a price, etc etc. It explains it all.

List the items, provide pics if possible, when you make a deal with someone they'll give you their PAL and you call the CFC and start transfer. They send the money by money order, email transfer, check whatever you like. When you get the money you ship the gun....pretty simple really.

Most guns on here are sent thru Canada Post and for the most part everyone here is honest, you can check them out in the feedback forum, I wouldn't hesitate to deal with anyone on here.

You don't even have to have posession of the guns. You can simply solicit interest and then pass the buyers along to your friend who can complete the sale. Is he the executor of his Dad's estate? Remember he must have legal authority to sell the guns.
You may want to ask for a commission from your friend to cover the time that you spend arranging the sales.

Ok, so you say I can send these things thru the mail! What if the buyer is in BC and I am in NB? .To answer your questions yes this guy has the ownership of the guns and my ATT is good for handguns to and from home -range.
If it is as easy as you say then I will get pic's and post here, though I may leave them at his place and have him do the transfers ,which sounds easier for me.
I guess I better take my camera when I go see him this week. The only problem is I dont know what some of these things are worth and I have to post prices, AND I am sure you guys will tell me RIGHT!

Why not start by posting a few pics and brief description of each item in the appropriate forum (pistols/revolvers, military rifles, shotguns etc).
That way, you can ask for an approx value before listing them for sale. The last thing you want your friend to do is take it to a gun store with no idea what the things worth. Good luck.

But, is your ATT good for his handguns? I don't think so. Unless your ATT specifies HIS firearms to and from the range it isn't worth #### to you. One ATT doesn't mean you can take any restricted firearm you want to the range. The firearms have to be specified in the application to the CFO of your province or territory in order to take them from from one place to another.

This is all spelled out on the CFC website: http://www.cfc-ccaf.gc.ca/default_e.asp

The guys here and myself included would like to see the list and pics of the firearms from your friends father's estate. But don't delude yourself in thinking an ATT will allow you to move those restricted firearms around unless your name is associated with them. If you ever got caught doing it without approval. Don't even want to go there.

What he said, I have posted photos and descriptions of pistols in this forum asking for a ball park figure of it's worth before moving it to the Equipment Exchange forum to sell. Don't take to a gunshow or you will get hosed, this site is the best place in Canada for firearms.
