Anyone ever heard this ever selling in canada , I know that some old ruger rifles had 44 mag in rifles .

Thank you , do you know if Ruger make those 44 mag rifles (look like mini-14 ) anymore, where can I find one ?

Nope. The last year of production for the Ruger 96/44 44 mag was 2007. I've seen the original carbines and the newer model 96/44s show up on the EE from time to time.

They've been listed anywhere from $350 to $700. If you see one grab it because they are a classic. I had an original at one time and it was a great little carbine for deer hunting in heavier bush, 50-75 yds or so. The newer 96/44s got great reviews for better accuracy out to 100yds.

I believe he is referring to the deerfield carbine. The 96/44 is a lever gun with a rotary box mag.
