I don't normally do this but thought it would be fun add another perspective.

I am looking for scope for a Stag Arms AR 10 in 6.5 . The goal is to shoot between 300 and 1300-ish . Preferably it would have a 30mm tube as I already have a mount but I am open to suggestions

Cheers

I have a Bushnell 3-12x44 LRTSi for mine (that I'm just about done putting together) sitting in a 20 MOA Badger Unimount. Should be good out to about 1300 or so. They're great little scopes, I have a few others, namely one on my M14S that's setup kinda like a DMR. I've taken it out to 830 yards. 12x might be a little on the low side for 1300 but still do-able and perfect inside 1000. My ideal scope for the Stag would be either the Leupold Mk5 3.6-18 or the NF NX8 2.5-20 but I already have tons tied up in scopes on my match rifles so that's just not in the cards right now, haha.

Well, you have entry level options from Vortex and Athlon all the way to Tangent Theta.

varying degrees of good ... without more boundaries on your budget and wants, you have the entire optics world to draw from.

Good point Jerry!

I want a scope to hold up to the use, track awesome and not break.

So in an ideal world it would be a thousand bucks. If it could be less and satisfying that would be awesome. I am open to spending more too but I would probably balk above $2k . I've had a bad experience with a Vortex Viper PST gen 2 and now would only consider a razor in that brand( that shoots the 30mm idea) Athlon intrigues me so does Leupold and Nightforce and Steiner. Believe it or not I've had really good luck with Bushnell . I have one of the HDMR 3.5x21 and it's great!

Sightron STAC 3-16X is a heck of a lot of scope for the cash (pretty sure they are still on the right side of $1K)

Reasonably light with excellent glass & eye box.

For your budget, new Athon Midas TAC 6-24 with Xmas reticle. Been running one hard and it tracks wonderfully. Not had any of my Athlons break in a couple of years of hard use.

If the budget allows (under $2k), Ares ETR.... what sits on my 3 of my competition rifles now.
