Semi-auto CETME Modelo A

Jesus, what happened to. No harm in trying? Or, how do you know, if you don't try?

Now it is don't bother, or what is the point... Yet these are the same people that tell others to fight the government and the OIC.

LOL. Well said. So Cetme still makes these? Or would it be a special run?

Unfortunately they don't make them anymore. This one was fabricated by me.

How much is new manufacture? If it does eventually get approved would kinda suck if only a dozen or 2 get made if your are reliant on a supply of long obsolete and hard to find parts.

It took quite a bit of time to make, so it definitely isn't cheap haha. But I was hoping to keep this discussion to more of a technical/legal discussion and not anything to do with the sale of it.

Tell me about it. We definitely have a different culture here when compared to the US. In the states they push every single boundary, exploit every possible "loophole" etc. Whereas in Canada, it's more like give up, don't bother, go complain on the forums or facebook. Oh well, hopefully will be able to take a nice roller-delayed rifle in the bush in a few years while the others are busy being pessimistic on the internet :)

It's a lot easier to comply in the USA with the bafte/atf rulings being public knowledge.

You have to talk to LEO's here, feels like a degree of separation for consumers versus overzealous "experts"

You built that more or less from scratch? That's awesome! Good luck, I truly hope it gets approved and I'd buy one! Any chance you have and would want to post some photos of the build process? Would be really cool to see.

If you built it from scratch and don't plan on selling then why bother with FRT? It's not law anyway and if your homemade rifle fits the legal definition to be non-restricted then you're good to go.

I didn't take as many pics as I should have, but I'll try to post some more up.

Think of it as a pseudo "get out of jail free card". Obviously this rifle would attract a lot of attention, and from my experience there is no shortage of people in this community that waste no time to get on the phone with the RCMP. In that case it would be extremely helpful to have an FRN/FRT#.

This place is getting a bit stale after the OIC, so just thought I'd share my new submission to the RCMP "lab". Hopefully it gets their blessing

If you do get lucky with the "lab", would you be able to produce in quantity ?

AFIK They Cetme 762 were never built as Full autos the FA feature was HK design in the G3

That is my understanding from "full circle" as well.

the full autos were all in the 7.92x41.

.... which were goddamned sweethearts of rifles, and at the absolute top of my "if there were no rules, I would own one" collection, ahead even of the G11.

Built it yourself? Amazing. Definitely looking forward to more pics and details on the build.

You’re half right haha. It may take years, but this has 3 additional features that prevent full-auto fire over the HK91, so they cannot claim that this is readily convertible to automatic fire, because they already deemed the HK91 not readily convertible to automatic fire.

RCMP LAB: Challenge Excepted.

Awesome rifle btw, your efforts are appreciated.
