Semi-auto CETME Modelo A

People like you who keep on parroting about the Tavor are the most likely ones to make sure that Tavors etc. will be the next fodder for a ban. Think what you want, but keep your fuoking mouth shut on what hasn't been banned. TOOL.

We can talk all we want. Why are you naive enough to think the govt doesnt know what they have/havent banned? Tool.

Wow, you guys should really submit your resumes to the RCMP SFSS...

It cannot be a variant of a G3 since the CETME Modelo A predates the G3. Just like how the sig 540 isn’t a variant of the 550, and pre-may the AR-10 wasn’t a variant of the AR-15. Also, the CETME sport auto rifle is based on the CETME Modelo C. The Modelo A predates the Modelo C, so it cannot be a variant.

And if I'm not mistaken it was developed by in Spain . I'm correct I saw them in use in Africa . I remember the design and the wooden stock . and yes it looks like a G3. they couldn't care less what we think or what we want. I wish you the best of luck .

This is an excellent submission.
Any importer who tries to supply the Canadian market with quality kit should be applauded.

The negativity of some CGN’ers is defeatist. “Save that drama fo yo Mama!”

I'm sure dreams of puppies and non-restricted belt fed full autos are wonderful, but we do live in Canada, the no fun capital of the world. There's what you want and what they'll let you have, there are NO rules when it comes to classification. While I wish the OP luck, and would buy said rifle should it become available, we've both seen too much utter bullsh*t from the lab to think that the fact it came first, won't turn this chicken into a fried egg.

it's on the original prohibited list by name and variations

69 The firearm of the design commonly known as the Cetme Sport Auto Rifle, and any variant or modified version of it.

I didn't take as many pics as I should have, but I'll try to post some more up.

Think of it as a pseudo "get out of jail free card". Obviously this rifle would attract a lot of attention, and from my experience there is no shortage of people in this community that waste no time to get on the phone with the RCMP. In that case it would be extremely helpful to have an FRN/FRT#.

How does that work if the evaluation doesn't go your way and the lab deems it to be prohibited? Do you get charged for having produced it and having been in possession of it? Or is there an exemption for things you voluntarily submit for evaluation?

Best of luck!

Thanks! And it was done under a Business Firearms License.

I get the point of this RCMP office in the context of our current laws, but I think it's completely redundant. If the government has dug up all the dirt they can find on you and they still decide you're good to go to own guns, it shouldn't matter what kind you own.

You're assuming logic applies to anything in this area. It does not.

Best of luck to you. I truly hope you get a positive ruling.

If you receive bad news, I also hope that you will file a Sec 74 challenge to make the CFP explain their decision to a judge.
