I just saw on armalytics that the October 24th FRT update dropped the FRT for the Cetme A, Prohibited.

The Horse cant keep getting away with it

unfortunately correct.


According to the AK/22 variant ATIP someone filed, there is a challenges (I read appeal) process.

I would love to see a photo of the barrel "barrel is 1034 mm (40.7 inches)"

I was planning on posting an update once I get the rifle back. But there is good and bad news.

Good news is that they agree that a semi-auto CETME A would be NR/R. And that the sample I submitted was not considered to be “readily and easily converted to automatic fire”.

The bad news is that whoever inspected it thinks that I used some G3 receiver flat to make it. And based on that assumption they reasoned that the sample I submitted was a G3 variant.

The plan now is to get the rifle back, strip the parts, and make another new receiver. But this time to CNC 2 halves of the receiver, then tig weld them together, instead of messing around with 3D printed stamping dies. And document the entire process so that the rcmp cannot claim otherwise. Still working out on whether I’d have to re-submit another sample or not.

This way loses a bit of the aesthetic, but technically I should be able to produce small quantities of them on my own.

Sad to hear the initial sample rejection, but glad to hear you have a plan. And don't worry about the aesthetic, the more it looks like a farm implement, the more likely it is to pass :⁠-⁠)

Thats a least a small light , hope it works out, the CNC and tig gives me a few ideas for a personal project

what if you recreated the same receiver with full documentation to prove it was not a g3?

Possible as well, but it was a huge pain to do it the way I did it with printed stamping dies. It fought me all the way and I really, really don’t want to do it again haha.

CNC’ing the receiver isn’t too bad. Mark Serbu did a similar thing for an AR-70/90 receiver. Plus this way makes it easy for me to make a few receivers. Or any of the other small shops up here can make the receivers too. A few hundred dollars for the receiver, $150us for a Cetme parts kit, and another $150us for a barrel and you can have a very affordable battle rifle.

Any time you could offer something for sale you know you have buyers lol.

WTF?! So much malfeasance.... The HOC should axe the lab in its entirity and replace it with an organization whose purpose is to support Canadians, not just crush entrepreneurs.

I am very curious to see their justification. I have no doubt they have pushed the envelope to the breaking point. Probably claiming it is an ar-15 variant or some other nonsense.
 
Do I bother having hope for this to release after a second OIC ban and possible third coming down the pipe? Been following this project for a long while and wondering what it's status is after all this time and things have come to pass
