semi-auto scare... who's ejecting?

I have to admit this semi ban has me annoyed enough to hold on buying anything new for a bit.What I have now isn't going anywhere though.Then again,if a good deal just happened to float by, I'd probably grab it anyway...heh......screw the Libs!!!!!...R..
 
Well, if history is any guide I would be going out and BUYING semi-autos! I can't see the government compensating for the confiscation of semi-autos hence, they will likely grandfather. Thus, if you want one I would buy one now.

I have made it quite clear to my MP and my liberal riding office that any bans on semi autos means nothing to me and I will not surrender any firearms..period.

I am going to scrimp even more money in order to get my wife her RPAL/PAL in order to get her on board as well. That way if we get grandfathered she will be able to have afirearm too.

As for my weapons and seizure concerns I will dutifully expect them to either buy them or allow me to keep them.

As far as a blanket ban, I worry that there will be a drastic increase in handgun thefts in Canada as the criminals decide to harvest them from law-abiding owners before they are turned in. So in short, the Liberals, by enacting a frikkin' ban would in fact be a direct cause of increased break-ins and thefts.

I am paranoid of the possibility that our names and addresses are in books in retail stores that are no more secure than a library. Which is where the thieves would doubtless get thier info, or perhaps even from the Registry if somebody was made and "offer they could not refuse".
 
In the event of a ban - bet on grandfathering. Don;t sell it - you may regret it.

lets just make sure this doesn't happen. In the event of the crooks, uuu I mean the grits getting back in we need to hammer ever minister etc on this issue, just like the "semi auto ban rumours" did with the CPC.
 
I am taking my restricted in the new year and buying a shiny new handgun. I already have my SKS but will be adding a few more semis before this election.

One thing I am confused on is the grandfathering thing. If that happens does it mean that my PAL would be a POL or that I could still purchase the 'newly restricted firearms' and everyone who gets their PAL cannot obtain semi autos?

It could mean a lot of different scenarios. One scenario could be that all semi-auto's become prohibited and they are confiscated without compensation, confiscated with compensation or grandfathered into a new prohibited class like those that presently exist. Those grandfathered would have the class on the back of their PAL. If they do ban sami-auto's, I think an import ban would be cost effective and serve the interests of both the government and the owners.
 
I'v been buying more, because it pisses off gun grabbers, but also because they cannot have them period.
I'll bury them if I have to, its not gunna happen enough is enough, we do not live in a free country any longer if this commie bull#### goes through.
I suggest everyone else to take a stand also if the sky falls on us, if there are enough people resisting they will realise that they need to stop screwing around.

That may be true as long as they will still issue ATT's so you can still shoot them..........

That being said, I'll never sell any firearm out of fear of losing it!:mad:

Now if I could just scrape up enough to buy a Swiss Arms CQB......:D

i thought the same thing all they have to do is not issue att,s and we are screwed. the government will say hey we are nice guys we let you keep your gun i hope you enjoy fondling it because that,s all you will be able to do with it.
