Semi auto, short barrel that cycle cci quiet?

Many years ago I had a chance to test as many varieties of .22 in an Erma M1 carbine-like rifle. Magazine fed from the bottom. The smallest powder charge that would move the bolt was a .22 Short. Those were hardware store boxes, so do your research.

I don't think it would be either, but I'd rather cycle a lever gun (or a pump, or any tube mag) than cycle singles through a semi like that ^. I've done it, just loses it's appeal fast.

I've never really shot more then 25-50 rounds max in one session.
I mostly shoot quiets through a single shot little badger when out hunting and a grouse of opportunity appears.... that and occasional short range plinking where noise is an issue.

95 plus percent of my rimfire shooting is with typical standard rimfire rounds.
