Do all semi auto shotgun fore-ends have a slight side to side loose play in them?

After shooting a few rounds through the Remington 11-87 and versa-max, the fore end becomes loose. This extremely annoys me, because I have to keep tighting the magazine cap.

I picked up the Beretta A400 extreme at the gun store and the fore-end seem'ed to be rock solid. So I bought it! After shooting a few rounds through it.......the same thing happens, the fore-end becomes loose!

Is this normal in all shot guns?

Normal Nope on the 1187's I had over the years. Stick a O-ring behind the mag tube nut and tighten see if that makes a difference.

I can't speak to the A400 but it is not normal on 391s. Check to make sure the forend is property seated in the receiver.

Ya, I re-seated that thing a 100 times!! haha

I must have got a lemon! I'll have to contact Beratta and see whats going on. For that cost of a gun....it should be pretty dam perfect!

my 1100, 391, 302 dont get loose and i put through flats and flats..
maybe it will become loose but so far they're all tight!

My A400 unico is rock solid after 15,000 rounds -- If you're experiencing looseness in this and others, you might be doing something wrong -- go back to the dealer and have them look at the gun as you put it together -- although the A400 is pretty well fool proof.

Ya maybe you aren't seating the barrel properly or something. I don't think that 3 different guns would all have the same problem.
