Semi auto shotgun rankings

Winchester sx3 (not the sx4) should be on the list. 20 inch barrels are not that common but they are out there. Rumours has it that some Remington barrels will fit but I've never seen it personally. The sx3 & 4 is made by FN unlike the sxp which is made in Turkey. Winchester claims that it is the fastest semi shotgun and the fact that it uses Invector Plus chokes and is around the $1k mark makes the gun interesting.

What loads was it hanging up with?

There are some awfully fast shooters, Jerry Misculek included, doing mag dump videos with the M4 with no issues. Its possible that there is something else occuring other than you beating the trigger?

Some low recoil buck, as well as low power target loads. This is one of those 'duuhhhh' things for most platforms, and it's to be expected from many. Hey, for all I know, the ones I ran had a gunked up gas system, though unlikely from the owners.

Had 3 m4s--had all others including the 1301 gen1---m4 proven in Afghanistan--in my opinion the go to semi period......ps.have a number of friends who use it for hunting so its not only limited to tactical use....

The low pressure loads might well be the reason then.

The ARGO system isn't particularly sophisticated and needs higher pressures to run at full speed.

At least since they deleted the 2 extra gas ports of the early production models when it was found that the action was cycling too violently and parts were getting ate up when running full power loads.

The Beretta 1301 tactical seems pretty nice from all thr reviews i read online. There is also some nice aftermarket options for it as well. The urbino pistol grip stock and sureshell aluminum carrier are pretty nice. There is also a +2 magazine extension so the barrel and the magazine tube are flush. Now that i think of it, if you add the +2 mag extension would that still be legal or would you have to plug the end?

Not just plug it but make the plug non-removable. Trinimon has a great thread here: https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...-1301-Post-your-mods-upgrades!?highlight=1301

No love for the M2? It's a way more practical platform imo. Lighter, cheaper, runs cleaner. Not knocking the M4 though.

The M2 rocks, however its getting a bit long in the tooth, and I think the introduction of the 1301 has upstaged it somewhat.

This was my impression. M4 is needlessly bulky and heavy. M2 is lean and mean. Yes I know m4 is better for light loads but who uses bird in an m4?

Always preference but the bulkiness provides a indestructible platform thus the military use....each has its attributes but hard to beat either...

Cheap birdshot is kind of important if you want to practice in a a decent volume without spending a fortune.

M16/M4/AR isnt bulky yet suitable for military use. Why does the Benelli supposed to do double duty as a bat.
