I like breakfree CLP. It seems to keep the carbon buildup under control and fouling doesn't stick to the metal, rather it simply wipes off.

Ya CLP is good stuff. During a machinegunners course you get to go through jugs of it. I know its smell lol. But lately I've been using eezox or G96. True anything works though.

If you think lubrication is lubrication, swap your transmission and engine oil. Then come back here and tell us how many hours your engine lasted for!

ive seen it done, several times.
ATF is chock full of detergents (have you ever seen the inside of a transmission?) and high-tech anti-wear additives. an older mechanic in the BMW/Porsche garage where i used to work part-time back in college would do engine flushes with them. hed drain the oil out of an engine, change the filter, and top it up with ATF. he would let the engine idle for 15-20 minutes, then drain it out thoroughly and do a proper oil change. he swore it cleaned out all the old tarry gunk in the engine and cylinder head.

im not advocating it or anything, just saying its been done

G96 silicon spay or just G96 regular for my M4 it also worked great on a 1201fp I had.

ATF makes a decent semi-auto lube. So does heavy-weight motor oil. Especially the synthetic kind :wink:

Some folks swear by grease, not oil.

Some folks actually make up recipes for their concoctions.

Ed's Red being a premium example.

None of this is a secret.

It's only secret to YOU.

But thanks for unearthing a commonly known fact and breathlessly announcing it on this forum.
