number of semi auto century arms sterlings mk4 for sale in usa $500-$700dollars,plus new semi auto mg 42, anybody know about bringing these in, i get the paperwork details, additional costs, but price still cheaper then what im seeing here. not like its a varient issue like some, not that i understand how a Ak is with varient and sterling is not???????????
well 1st you must be SURE its the model the rcmp will/do consider semiauto ONLY otherwise is prohib

THEN will the us state depart allow the export??? if so find an exporter and importter and go for it

Original Sterlings are either 12(2) or 12(3), except for the Sterling Police Carbine, which is restricted. The commercial semi auto Sterlings (Mk. 6 & 7) which were designed to be compliant with US regulations and which operate using a closed bolt system are named prohibs in Canada. The ones to which you are referring might be considered variants of these, and would therefore be prohibited. They also may be reusing original Sterling receiver parts salvaged from scrapped guns, and this could make them prohibited as well.
If you are serious about these, contact the RCMP for a ruling.
IF the guns are acceptable, then find out IF they are exportable from the US.
IF they are legal here, and exportable, then you can reach for your wallet.

laws are messed, some prohibited by name, some by bolt systems, others by look, some based old vs new recievers, you want to ban guns, easy, make it costly, add acountabilty such as security system, a real safe, insurance fees, not by O.I.C's

######## have an open bolt semi auto prototype which is identical to the sterling police carbine. I'm told that if approved they will be available for at least 50% less than the present asking price.

I have a deposit on the long barreled sten from ######## and it is approved. I pick it up at the end of the month and will post range report and tons of pics. I for the one with the suomi drum mag. I have serial #01000 of them. first one, it is the one the RCMP had to approve. He has FRT numbers and is producing as soon as new batch of parts shows up. Alot of people on here thought we was full of crap but he is now approved.

Sterling Police Carbine

I would buy another one if they ever are available.
I had one years ago bought it new from OTG and loved it. Got talked out of it when I was going through my black powder phase.
The guy got robbed and the Bast**ds took the Sterling, S&W K22, High Standard Victor, and a Colt 1911.
I still have a box of parts to make up the 10, and 30 round mags. I also have some parts for the British roller mags.

"...Why not?..." Evil things that look like an SMG. Oddly, Sterling SMG's are not on the U.S. restricted for export list. Likely not many down there.
Sterling Mk 6, Mk 7's and any variation of either are prohibited. Make you go blind owning one.

The wiselite sterlings are rough. They are made by welding the old rear and front receiver ends to a new centre section. The magwell is original manufacture.

FN made a special deal with the DoS. They have sway as the large SA contractor to the USDOD. It is still controversial.

The DoS will not approve export permits for "non-sporting" firearms.

It's nice that FN is doing what it can to sell to other markets, even if they are small. :)
