Any thoughts on the best model?

I'm looking for something that can accept magazine extensions & chokes, sights are unimportant.

Will be used primarily for 3 gun stuff. I've seen the Fabarm that Blue Line is offering, does that have chokes? Anyone have any experience with it?

I also saw this web page but have never even heard of these guns before.

I am curious why you are looking for one that could accept mag tube extensions because if it is semi you could still only have 5 rounds.

Or are you simply after an aestetic look?

If you have the cash go for the benelli M4 although I don't own one I have fired one on several occasions and it is the best.

5 rounds of the type the gun was designed for, so for example you can easily get 6x rounds of 2 3/4" in a gun designed for 3" rounds....

just an FYI.... if the gun is a 3" model and only holds 5x 3" shells your good to go with MORE shells of a lesser length.

yes i realize that, but the extra shell fits in without the use of a mag extension. If you put a mag extension on more than 5 x 3" shells would fit and it would be prohib. So unless the extension is being added to achieve a certain look I don't see the point of it as it would have to be plugged once added.

but as previously mentioned it could be for compitions in the US

I'll be using it in the US primarily.

Benelli M4 is likely way outta my price range, but I'm not sure how expensive they are.

Benelli M2 field with 24" vent rib barrel.

Put a Nordic Components +6 tube on it with a Light Modified choke and you are good to go.

May have to make a plug for some divisions/classes to restrict overall shell capacity.

This is my choice.

Other than this, the Winchester SX2/SX3 has a decent following in the states, as well as the FNH SLP

search the Brian Enos forums in their 3-gun shotgun section and you'll find every answer you need.
Most of the top competitors post there.

Benelli M4 is not competitive and there are restrictions as to what you can do to it in terms of adding parts.
Besides, the sights are slow if you intend to be very competitive
I have one and love it, but just not for competitive shotgun shooting

I've been using the Benelli M4 for a couple of years now... Awsome guage.
Yes... After market full length tubes are avaiable as well as extensions, but... You could run afoul of 922r in the US.... or not. Depending on who you believe and/or what else you do to the gun...

Google 922r and prepare for you mind to implode :)

Here's one guys attempt at clarification

Think on this though... Even with the M4's silly 5 shot mag y'can get her up to 7.
Most if not all major 3-gun matches I've been to you can start fully stoaked.
So that's 5 in the mag one on the carrier and one in the chamber...
Div. Capacity is usually 9 rounds so... you're down 2... Big deal. Scope/plan the stage and work on your reloads... You'll do fine.

Or... It won't matter 'cause some guy with a pump will still smoke your ass.

Benelli M2 Tactical. Less expensive than the M4, better mechanism IMO, better stock than the extendable that comes with the M4, has choke tubes, 5 shots instead of 4 and with a quick barrel change and a plug can be used for clays and wingshooting.

I have been thinking about this myself.....the Rem 1100 is looking good.....easily swap out extension, choked, parts, service etc...can practice with it back home....good prices

Actually, I didn't think that came in a synthetic stock model...but I just noticed the Tac 4....not bad at all
