semi autos for lefties

thanks for all the info guys, I was at Italian Sporting Goods this morning and the USP9 felt pretty darn nice. The mag release on the right worked great, and the safety/decocker can apparently be switched to the right hand side too. Plus they've got a promotion on now - USP9 stainless brand new for $1040.

Nice gun, great price, Just be aware that you need another safety lever (different part #) to go on the right side, the left one already there cannot be transferred to the other side.

I am a lefty and I,ve been shooting a Beretta 92 for almost a year now. I switched the mag release, and other than that, safety is ambi, and slide lock is pretty easy to reach.

As a lefty, I can never understand how righties can reach the slide release on most pistols. 1911 especially... it's not really in an ideal location for a thumb.

Trigger finger works the slide release for me, on almost all guns. I find it a little tough on the Sig's though...

Real good price. HMMMMMM! I better wait until I sell something before I commit to that.:(

I'm a lefty, so I'm looking for a semi auto that comes in a left hand version
All handguns come in "left hand" versions. They are exactly the same as the right hand version only you use your index finger to operate the controls instead of the thumb.

I shot IPSC for years with a conventional 1911 and a CZ75. The only control needed in left hand is the safety and even then you can get around using a right hand only safety. All it takes is practice.

Adapt and overcome. It is a right handed world, learn to live with it.

I don't know what you are allowed to have in Canada, but I am a lefty, and I've found three pistols that are pretty "lefty friendly"..

1. S&W 3913
2 Bersa Thunder 9 (Ultra Compact)
3 Sig P239... Not really ambi as it has a decocker/ but mag release is reversable. This is my 1st choice in a carry pistol and it has been extremely accurate and 100% reliable for over ten years..

The S&W Airweight Bodyguard is nice if you like to carry concealed.

I highly recommend Crimson Trace Lasergrips. They are excellent.

Best Wishes,
