I haven't shot much trap lately and am looking to get back into it again. Most of the semi's I have looked at say they are for Sporting Clay's. The only one I have tried is the Remington and did not like the way it felt. Does anyone have any recomendations. Thank's.

Lever Arms has a Remington 1100 Classic Trap listed on their site that I was looking at a couple days ago. Read some good reviews on those ,I believe on " Shotgun Report " website

While fingering through the 2000 Remington catalog, I lingered at the
page describing their skeet, trap and sporting clays guns. I was
instantly attracted to the re-introduction of the Model 1100 Classic
Trap and the Model 870 Wingmaster Fiftieth Anniversary Classic Trap
in 12 gauge. Both guns featured stocks with Monte Carlo combs, low
ribs on the 30" barrels with 3 Rem Chokes. Marked Singles (.027"),
Mid Handicap (.034"), and Long Handicap (.041") these chokes can be
swapped with any standard Rem Choke. Most trap guns feature a step
rib, and for the rising targets that are found on a trap field, these
step ribs are fine. Some shooters find these step ribs are somewhat
less desirable when shooting at dropping targets as the step rib can
sometimes obscure the target. So there it is. High comb, low rib.
Prescription for an all around clay target gun.

The Benelli Sporting has a stepped rib like a lot of trap guns although it is quite light which is not always desirable in a gun for trap.
Beretta makes a 32" Trap version of the 391. I've shot one and if I wanted a semi for trap it's the one I'd get. Then have NCP in Ohio work their magic on it.
I don't have a gun specifically dedicated to trap anymore and use my sporting gun when I shoot that game. I think there is more to be gained by not switching guns than the advantages offered by a dedicated trap gun.

I have shot a Beretta 391 Trap and the Parallel Target models. Both are good. There are a quite a few fellas that shoot them at my club and they all have had an adj. comb put on them.
Now if you are really keen you could order a Beretta from Moneymaker and it would come with an adj. rib. You could also order a Beretta 391 Teknys Gold X Trap. I have shot one of these and it is so nice. The one I shot had an Adj. rib as well. It was the smoothest, nicest semi I have ever laid hands on.

My fther shot O/u's for years, but went to an 1100 in his last years shooting due to the lighter recoil.
I have it now, and use it for new shooters.
It works great.
I also use an auto 5, and Double auto on occasion.....

Lee Braun established some pretty good scores when he sot for Remington
with his 1100's !
The Beretta 391 Parallel Target makes a pretty nice Trap Gun, and a good
back-up to your Beretta Sporter.

If you are buying a gun for trap shooting you should by all means get one made for trap, it will have all the extras built in, these are time tested features built into the gun to help increase your scores, some features will help you through those comp. days when you shoot 300 plus shells and fatigue and carelessness are apt to creep in if the gun doesn't fit right and recoils to much, or allows you to set your cheek in varying positions on the stock(a sure miss waiting to happen). If you've decided on a semi...get a Rem. Trap gun or a Beretta Trap gun, don't settle for any kind of field or sporting clays gun if all you will use it on is Trap!!

Thats were I'm at. I shoot the shotgun games for the fun of shooting. I want to be competitive but no driving force to be the best. Look forward to the shoots I can get to and do the best I can. The old Auto 5 and Double Automatic do just fine on the line. Yes, there are a couple O/U's tucked away as well but those two are my oldies that see a fair ammount of use.
