Lee Braun established some pretty good scores when he sot for Remington
with his 1100's !

The Beretta 391 Parallel Target makes a pretty nice Trap Gun, and a good
back-up to your Beretta Sporter.
So did Barney Hartman on skeet.....

Barney HARTMAN shot his 12ga. with Rem. 58's - 20 & 28 ga. with a Browning O/U
and 410 with an over-barreled Win. Mod. 42. (One of which a buddy owns)

Shot with Barney on a few occasions - incredible focus. His 12ga. loads were
"snappy" 3 dram C.I.L.'s - coded "BH" on the box.

I use a Beretta Pintail... and LOVE it. The inertia(sp?) action is so light on the shoulder. My girlfriends use mine too and never complain about the recoil, most of us are around 120 lb. My teenagers love it too. I actually didn't even get to try my "new gun" for months because the kids were busy with it!! They have their best trap scores ever with that gun. The very first time I shot it, I hit 22.
Have you found a gun yet or are you still looking and trying?

Found my SP and fixed it!
I had manyy conversations with Mr. Hartmen over the years, as he and my father worked together.
He was one of my heroes in my younger days.
IIRC he shot a mess of 1100's as well?

Barney came to our club years ago for a weekend of instucting. Didn't bring any firearms so he used my old Rem. 1100 Trap gun with skeet barrel and he shot several other 1100's that weekend as well. I think he could hit with anything. He's one of the few that could hit a skeet target hard enough to smoke it on every shot. Fantastic shooter/instructor and a real gentleman.

Two shotguns

I've had a Browning O/U for years. My 18 yr old wanted to start shooting skeet and trap and I picked up an Old Rem. 1100 for around $300. had the store thread the barrell to accept chokes and i bought two chokes. The skeet choke works on the skeet field and have a Mod. for the trap. Jr. decided he wanted the O/U and I now use the Remington on both fields with consistant 23's and 24's. (the odd rare 25)
Cheap investment great shooter, lots of others around if you want parts, keep it cleaned , keep it lightly oiled and its great.
