The usuals what kind of accuracy...groups
Thank s Davide

Got 338 WM R1 good results with Buffalo Bore & Barnes factory ammo. Handload 338 WM Ruger Hawkeye good results with 275gr Swift A-Frame & IMR 4064 should also work well in my R1.

Three things.

Firstly I don't have a benelli 338. However, 338wm is one of my favorites, I've had many, and currently own the competition a Bar Safari 338. My rifle is easily moa, every Bar I've owned (6) has been, two much better.

Secondly, don't think of the 338 as a 300wm throwing bigger lead. Think of it as a 308win velocity wise, pushing 225 or 250grs. Sure you could shoot 185 for recoil reduction or velocity, but really is that why you bought a 338?

Thirdly, the calibre really shines with 250gr and up. Find some, not quite a I dare you, but close. When you find some projectile ( let's go Brandon), look in a reloading source for suitable powders. Inbetween medium and slowwww is your range, something like 4350, 4831, ish. Look up the suggested powders on the burn chart, use the FASTEST suggested powder. Here's why and I paraphrase our powder guru, Ganderite. A faster powder might give you 50 or 100 ft/sec slower speed, but, the maximum pressure curve has passed the gas port before the action cycles. Less teeth rattle( 250's) and easier on the mechanism.

Interesting points you have said ..I thank you
I have been searching for a bar ....ya im a browning person...but this was available and on sale..
All my Browning’s are dead nut accurate...
I was going to go the-barns in 210 weight ...but the 250’s are easy to get
