I been wanting a semi shotgun for awhile and think maybe it’s time I would like some input from the guys who know. This is not shotgun country but want to use one for big game, upland and water fowl.
Would like to use slugs and shot so a rifled barrel probably not the best for me? or 2 barrels?
Something with sights, weather resistant synthetic.
Suggestions………..and value for money might I might even consider parting my powder coated/boyd’s laminte Rem 870 maybe…..
Thanks in advance.

You can never go wrong with synthetics but there are a few things to consider when using a shotgun for Big Game.I can't find my copy of the Yukon hunting regs right now to check but in n BC,a shotgun is not allowed to be used on Big Game bigger than deer or black bear. That means no moose, elk, caribou, etc.Given that in the Yukon most of your Big Game is really big you might want to check into the legality of using a shotgun. It may be a non issue up there. If it's not,its hard to beat a Remington 1100 with a couple of barrels.

I have heard alot of good things about the MP-153 Semi.....3.5" if necessary, looks sturdy, price is right, screw in chokes, etc, wood or plastic.

Maybe consider a pump. More reliable and faster to shoot with more accuracy. Ask a cop. Sir has a Rem Express super magnum takes 2-3/4 to 3-1/3 for $315. Plastic stock and flat black finish.

Actually Nov 23 is buy a gun day, as far as I am concerned. I picked up a MP153 at Dante. Synthetic stock was $599.99 plus tax. The wooden stock was $65 more.

I was also looking at the Mossberg 935 semi but looking at pictures only because I couldn't find any in the shops. They seem to sell very well but appear to not always shoot the 2 3/4 rounds. Mind you they are not advertized to shoot the 2 3/4 either.
The 153 gas system is all stainless and the guts are all steel. The Mossy has some soft metal bits inside, so I was told. But it appears the Mossy parts are not expensive.

I am moving from more firearms to fewer firearms and decided to go 3 1/2 for versatility. I still have the o/u bug and might yet get the Bakial, a lot of gun for the money.

I spoke to Paul at Epps and he liked the MP153, said his shot everything once it was broken in. I didn't buy it there cause the price difference was only $1 and with the price being the same its a lot better to buy local.

Best price for the 935 black is $500 at SIR but currently on backorder. The Mossy are more expensive everywhere else.

Anyway I will see how it goes. However when one sells one gun to purchase another the drag on the wallet isn't so bad.

I settled on the MP153 because it fits me well. I read a lot more good stuff than bad stuff.

I can only get the first and the last link to work. Any alternate reference to the other vids. Wanna see them after looking at the other two.

Indeed the middle links appear to no longer be valid. They were working last week.
In a nut shell the video was of some Italian guys at a range with boxes of shells. Load and fire, load and fire non stop. I lost count.

They were using a gas powered leaf blower to cool the gun down.
