semi shotgun round limit

I would like to hear if it isn't too much trouble....

Is it Wednesday already!?! Lol

On a serious note... We never hear from the people who professionally compete in 3 gun matches. Both my daughter and I do but we are past the point of explaining ourselves. Someone else chime in.

I'd love to hear more about being a professional 3 gun competitor!
You and your daughter should share your story, maybe inspire more women to get into the shooting sports.

It would be a dream to be able to quit my day job and shoot for a living.

From what I have been lead to believe, if someone has these, they might be a Pro....so keep your eyes peeled!

This is not the legalese section. This is the shooting games section.

Capacity rules are a good discussion to have here, but not from the legal perspective.
What about capacity rules from a gaming perspective?

Should match organizers decide on a max capacity for shotguns? They do it for handguns, don't they?
Do any handgun matches allow 12 rounds of 9mm in 40 mags?

Let's say all semi-autos are limited to 6+1 at the start buzzer? It would eliminate any need for a 3.5" gun.

And personally; I would love to see ghost-loading banned. It just adds up to so much wasted time by the end of the day.

I would suggest, if your are not happy with the way the rule sets are with specific matches, that you create your own matches with the rules you like. People will either attend your matches or not. There is no problem with ghost loading as far as I can tell. The problem lies when people come to a match, and come to the line and ask the RO "can you teach me to Ghost Load my shotgun"? Matches aren't the place to practice basic gun handling skills.

And IMHO, the government already meddles enough with capacity limit laws in this country, I don't really think we need match organizers making up more capacity limits for the shooting sports, thank you very much.

^His point is people waste time fiddling with loading the gun on the starting line.

Funny in Texas they shoot 3gun with 90 sec par time but I have to assume they have a LOT of great shooters there.

I know what his point is. My counterpoint is that if people actually practised loading their shotguns outside of a match, the fiddling part would evaporate. It takes all of 4 seconds to ghost load a shotgun, not a huge time waster. Par times are great, and should be used more. Problem is, you get these self same people that don't practice to the match, and they complain that they are unable to finish the cof's. Again, matches shouldn't be practice sessions for basic gun handling skills.

It probably takes me more than 4 seconds to ghost load. :p

And you know I just love people that complain about CoF/par time/they have a heart condition/whatever.

IPSC is the only Handgun sport that specifically disallows that, that I am aware of. Everyone else can make up whatever rules they desire.

Wouldn't bother me any to shoot a match where someone wanted to use .40 mags in a 9mm. I don't worry about getting out shot buy the equipment, I care about the competitor who trains/practices more than I do beating me!
