Hey guys. Just saw a Bushmaster varminter with 24 inch barrel on bass pro website and they were describing it as a great varmint gun. It must have been their US site because arnt they restricted? Also right now my varmint rig is a Thompson Centre Venture Predator in .223 with a Bushnell Legend tactical 4.5x30x50 but im looking at getting a semi rig. Whats the best semi rifle out there for coyotes and varmints? All the help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys

Other than the AR platform there are not many semi-auto systems that can compare (accuracy wise) with a decent bolt gun. I consider MOA to be the minimum for varmit shooting, coyotes perhaps less.

I have heard of guys achieving MOA with the Swiss Arms Classic (not able to purchase now) and with a HK SL8 when using a developed load. The Mini-14 Target might be a candidate but have not heard of any great accuracy claims from owners. (Certainly an improvement in accuracy over the basic Mini-14 but not sub MOA capable.)

A buddy of mine just got a Tavor, it might have potential but its a pricey bit of kit.

My AR180B once I put a better scope base was a good varmint gun, It used AR15 Mags, 19" Barrel, Semi auto and can be found for 1200-1600$ little less then Swiss, or Tavor. Another would maybe be a Type 97 at 1000$ seems to be a good deal.
