Semi vs Bolt

So a bolt gun is better for high accuracy and a semi is better for fast multiple engagements.........mind blown.

I usually enjoy his videos but this one was very predictable.

I enjoy LV's video's but by all means: if you made a better one post the link.........

Ha I barely even get out to do any precision/long range shooting any more, I never said I made a better video I was just criticizing the "test". I was expecting more of a "controlled" test, not "hey watch me shoot this rifle over here and now watch me shoot this other rifle at different targets under different conditions over here".

What I like about the video is the honesty.
Lots of guys on youtube would edit out the misses and present themselves as a hero.
I have no reason to think the video was tweaked to make them look good.
er uuuh at least I hope not.

As I rebuild my website over the many months, I hope to create a link section to article and videos so shooters can have a reference to answer a range of questions.

A video like this would seem obvious to experienced shooters but for new shooters entering the sport, it might solve a zillion emails asking the same thing. There are some very good and some not so good videos. This one spells things out in a pretty straight forward way and shows the differences well.

There will always be some editing but it is nice to see shooters miss and some of the difficulties you can face when you ACTUALLY go out and shoot..... in the wind... off a rifle range.

I have said before that I like the coach. He has a very clear and experienced way to convey information. Simple to understand, simple to use.... very effective.

It also shows how much fun you and your buddy can have acting as shooter/spotter. AND hopefully, shows how to spot and the type of info a spotter needs to give to help the shooter get on target.

all simple stuff that experienced shooters know BUT for the newbies, learning to do things well out of the box can only lead to more enjoyable and successful outings.

The one major thing is the degree of pricey gear they use. Yes, it is really nice stuff and of course works BUT a newbie is also going to be influenced that they need mega dollar kit to get things done. That can be a turn off and most certainly is not necessary

But it is a place to start and a good start it is...

I am only starting to enjoy my scopes in mils, in this video eveything was in mils...
Dont think i will buy another scope in MOA... JP.:)

seems like they are shooting with their middle finger and the main and thumb are used to cycle the bolt. Similar to mad-minute/enfield style

You don't need a race gun, they can do it with production rifles too

No need for madminute style middle finger on a trigger either. Just old fashioned slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

I will bring my bolt and semi to a range to share with any individual and I can bet which rifle will be quicker for both of us.
