Keep in mind that many SWAT and special Army units went semi-auto shotguns insted of pump. In fact, we have a number of semi-auto shotguns prohibited for that reason.

over and under guns, plural! Win/64 I can not figure if you are a spelling freak, a school teacher, or are just trying to get another quick tick on your post count. At least with you, I know I am not on everyone's ignor list;)

Semi of course! There is no one who can shoot a pump anywhere near as efficiently as a semi and in my experience the semi's (Remington anyway) are every bit as reliable.

im not after quick shots .., i dont just unload my semi autos at waterfowl when they fly infront of my bead, i take care with my shots. so fire rate is not an issue

the thread is really about reliability, whats cool, and what everyone likes - personal opinions

I thought about ignoring you too :). But you have so much to offer I just couldn't do it. :)

I've always liked the Saiga series, semi's widely available in the US. What are they regulated as here? I'll be darned if they classify it as an ak-variant lol...
They are pretty inexpensive based on what i'm seeing for shotguns, but i don't really know what quality you are getting.

Definitely one of the few semi's i like, aside from a street sweeper :dancingbanana:!

Don't count on it. I have been timed at between .53-.64 seconds from the buzzer for two shots. Maverick 88. No, its not a freak string, I can beat .75 second pairs all day long. That time isn't the split, thats from the buzzer. My buddy who had the SAT8 semi could dump 2 in .37 seconds from the buzzer. Then again, rapid shots aren't always required. Only hits count.

Don't take any bets on either of those statements particularly if the pump gun being shot is a Winchester Model 12, Model 97 or an older Ithaca 37. These shotguns didn't have trigger disconnectors meaning if you hold the trigger back the gun automatically fires each time it is pumped. Very fast. :)

As for the autoloaders, I have never had a pump gun, or any gun for that matter, be as unreliable as a Remington autoloader. I would not trust my life to one.

Autoloader, softer recoil, and you're not moving the barrel around like you would working a slide.
also you can keep your hand closer in for better support ,as it's not out there on the pump.

Unless it's a Ithaca 37,very short pump on that one.

The greater the distance between your hands, the more stable the platform. Not necessarily easier on the body, but more stable. Pump guns provide plenty of purchase for even the shortest arms. Narrow grips like those who use the magwell on AR rifles are slow to move and unstable to shoot from.
