Just got some 220gr cast bullets for my 45acp 1911. Should the "shoulder" on the bullet be flush or out of the case a 1/16"? Is it just whatever feeds properly? I seated some dummies flush and they seem to load well but they don't eject well. I think I can live with the ejection problems but I will probably play with it some more. Seems to be a few varying opinions on this. Using some blue dot powder mostly because I had it. I've seen a few loads for 230 gr bullets at 10 gr of powder. Anyone else have a load for this powder? I was going to try around 9.5gr

Seat them so they feed, is it an actual SWC or a truncated nose?

It's a swc. I had to google what truncated nose was though. It has a right angle corner and then a cone.

typically any SWC i've used (not many as they don't feed well in my 1911) needs to be seated flush or just a tiny tiny bit above the case mouth. it should drop in and out of your barrel easily.

Yes. My 200gr SWC loads have the shoulder maybe 0.010" out of the case mouth.
