I have had an SF in 300 RUM for quite some time. It took alot of getting use to but man do I love it! The accuracy right out of the box was great until I hit the 1700 round mark, after that it seemed to open up. Seems that the throat has been erroded quite a bit, so naturally I ordered a broughton barrel with a sendero contour to finish at 28.5" long and a 1 in 10 twist. It is in right now and can't wait to hammer the first ones out!
I love the rifle and caliber, it has been my goto hunting rifle. I think the extra weight of it helps with the excesive recoil a little bit anyway, but if you shoot with lighter bullets and lighter loads it is alot easier on the body ( but I love the pain
) I still always practice my skills on my 10/22 and then transfer over to the big boys with pretty good results.
