Sendero Owners

oh, its gonna be my primary rifle. im gonna shoot the $#it outta it until i have to rebarrel it to somethign else.

Atta Boy!
Determination like that is ultimately rewarded with success.

Take our advice on the brake though!

I know exactly what you mean.
M-C-M-I-L-L-A-N :D

I am waiting for a big order of 208 Amax's...They are supposedly as good as it gets..
We shall see!

I also plan on trying some Bergers his year

well, if i could afford the 1000bux for a new stock id jump right on it. but until then. im gonna have to fix the problem myself.

this is the part i need to get rid of. Anyone know if is hollow in there or not??? im thinking of sanding it down but dont want to end up with a huge hole in my stock.

The stock has decent resale value which will disappear if you mod it. I got a few hundred bucks for mine.....Something to think about.

I am waiting for mine to come in. Ordered in 7mm Rem Mag. I plan on puttin on a Zeiss Conquest with the Raid Z 800 reticle.

does anyone find that the combination of the huge palm swell and the comb being how it is, gives it a s#!tty grip? maybe its just cause i have big hands. i dunno.

I've got a .300 Win Mag PSS with the same stock. Varmint Synthetics have the same stock as well with a different paintjob, had one of those around for awhile too. I don't like that fat grip either, I actually had to bend the bolt handle to stop it from nailing my trigger finger with every shot. After 40 or 50 shots I'd have enough blood on the bench that it looked like I'd shot myself.
The rifle itself shoots pretty good, after I blueprinted it, rebarrelled to a 1-11 Fluted Lilja, bedded in Devcon, did the trigger and changed the extractor that broke.

Someday I'll understand what it is about this afliction that has me spending more time and money on rifles that I don't like very much than the ones that I do. Until then, it remains a mystery.

This one is in a .300 Win Mag and started out as a srtaight Sendero. Since then it had the A5 stock, bedded, trigger work and after these photos went to ATRS for a Rock Creek 5R barrel, muzzle brake, tubb recoil lug, blueprinting... It has a Leupold MK 4 6.5-20x50 in NF rings and Warne base.

It shoots great with 180 gr Sciroccos and 208 gr Amaxs.

I had an original 700 Sendero SF in 7mm Rem Mag, I had a 3200 5-15x40 on it. Stupidly sold it before really getting a chance to stretch its legs.

With some of the newer super slippery Bergers and less recoil than a 300Win I predict the 7 Mag will get "rediscovered" by long range shooter-hunters.

I had an all black Sendero that had a horribly pickled finished that nobody wanted. I bought it brand new (for the action) for $500.00 then made the mistake of shooting a couple of boxes of with Canadian tire ammo through it...The first 3 shots went into less than 3/4 inch and the next group was tighter was tighter. By the end of the second box the rifle was printing well under 1 inch at 200 yards! The barrel was a pig to clean and the chamber distorted brass horribly.
As I cleaned the miserable barrel my buddy wisely made an offer I couldn't refuse....He still shoots little (sub 1/2 inch) groups with it.:D:D

i got a sf 11 sendero in a .300 ultramag.i got a leupold varix 3 on tally rings.92 grains of reloader 25 and 190 grain hornady interlock gave me a .25" group at 100 yards.

I have had a sendero since 1998. It was chambered in 7mmSTW. I took the barrel off (unfired) and built a 27" 7mm-300Ultra Mag. barrel. (since that time remington has made the 7mm Ultra). It was cool having the chance to get ahead of the curve and build a caliber before the big boys introduced it! I love the caliber, but it burns barrels! I have less than 300 rounds through it, and have about 0.025" barrel throat erosion. No big deal, but I dont shoot this rifle unless I am checking my point of aim, or am hunting. This caliber just Electrocutes aninmals! Shoots quite well. The stock fits me just fine. Have fun and straight shoot'in!

I have an older Sendero 300RUM, it isn't an SF, it's an matte black CM action and barrel, recently dropped into a B&C A5 stock. I haven't made it out to the range yet, so no idea how it shoots, it wears a VX III 3.5-10 LR with M1's pretty sure it's a MK 4, but not 100% certain, it has a 30mm tube. Recoil was pretty stout with the HS stock, haven't had the B&C out at all yet.

I currently own 5 Rem 700's and just traded off my Savage for the most recent. Love'em!!

load for a 7 rem mag Sendero, bought around 93-94 I believe. Bergers shoot sub MOA all day. BUT it is a truck or blind gun. It is way too heavy to carry all day hunting.

We laugh because the owner always says he "looks back" while hunting to see if he is dragging a log behind him its so heavy and long...

Haha

I had one in a 300 ultra....... nice rifle for the $$$ little on the heavy side for pack'n around all day but shot great! Mine wore a 6.5- 20 Leupold mark 4 with just basic leupold 30mm rings... seamed to work good but now I've stepped up to the .338 ultra in a sendero, I can't wait to start burning some powder out it. IMO a hard rifle to beat for the price.

I have an original SF in 300 RUM with a threaded brake. It is 1/2 MOA to 1MOA with everything I have thrown at it. My pet load with 180 accubond is legit 1/2 MOA to 800 yards It has always been consistent too - dial, squeeze and gong! I didn't like the original stock, and it now sits in a McM A3. Its heavy and a bit cumbersome to pack. I have a mil spec rail and swap between a 4200 6-24x50 and Leupie VX3 4.5-14x40 with turrets and custom reticle, and others. Bit of a safe queen, and now and then I consider selling it. I'd regret it though.
