Sendero SF II

They are heavy, accurate, and I'd go with the 300 Winchester mag. The only bad thing is it's a Remington. Don't like the new ones at all.

What do you guys think of this gun for long range target shooting and what I go with either 7mm ultra mag or 300 ultra mag

They make a decent LR platform to work with. Like all 700s they need some minor tweaking to get the most out of them.

Personally I too would go the 300 win mag over either of the RUM offerings.
For glass Nightforce all the way.

I take it u sell optics and what kind of tweaking would it need

Bedding done, trigger job.

The RUMs may make great hunting cartridges, but I'd stay away from them for targets. Although the ballistics are impressive barrel life is not. According to the 6mmBR.com barrel life calculator with a max load of Retumbo in a 7mm RUM (180 VLD) you're looking at 564 shots before accuracy starts to degrade. Compare that to ~1400 for a 300 WM and ~2800 for a .308 you can see what I mean.

Okso what might u think I should get for long range target shooting I dont care about price

300 win mag given what they offer.

Yes we sell optics including Leupold and several others, I just prefer the NF scopes for the repeatability, clarity and reticle choices. Having tactical turrets make LR shooting much easier than the covered hunting style turrets that the Leupold VX series employs.

Asking that is similair to asking: "What kind of truck should I get?"

There are plenty of good rifles out there depending on your needs. Do you reload? Casual plinking or competition?

If price is really no object a custom may be the best route, although you have to wait to get the work done. If price is really, really, really no object than a PGW is second to none.

A Sako TRG 42 in 300 WM may be a good bet, but still a lot more than a Sendero.

I have never had an inaccurate Sendero. I have had over dozen. I still have two right now in 7mm STW and 7mm mag. Although I would never buy a SFII..

Bed it - stick a real trigger in it - mine shoots like a hot damn.

Personally I prefer 7mm rem mag or just plain 300 win mag. Don't see the need to burn so much more powder for such marginal gains.

That said I think I saw a used on at custom gunworx east of Rocky in 7stw or 7rum so sale...with a few targets hanging off it that proove it's a shooter.
