I have an old Burris 1.75X 5X which is virtually unused because the adjustments are not working! This is why it is in new condition.

So, what are the possibilities of sending it to the USA for repair? and of course getting it back out of the States?

There are forms you have to fill out, and then you have to get the item verified. Once this is done, you will be able to send it south, and get it back.
Call Burris and ask them, and they will let you know. Not all scopes are subject to the ITAR restrictions.

Make a day of shopping on the other side, an mail from there. Use a local mail box for return address an you'll be good to go.

I would highly NOT recommend doing this. The last conversation I had with a US Customs Officer was that scopes need to have permits filled out but by the manufacturer. Doing otherwise could land you in some serious trouble on the US side. If you want to talk to US Customs send me a PM and I'll give you a number to speak with someone who knows the rules.

And Canadian Customs can also ding you for GST taxes even on stated repairs if you don't have the right forms as well when it returns to Canada..ask me how I know..
