Sending dummy rounds to the US

No lawyer; but with a hole drilled in the side of the case & the primer pocket either empty or filled with silicone I figure it be a hard time arguing it was actual ammo. Maybe paint the case to boot? Declare it a novelty item?

ammunition components - inert or not. whatever the regulations on shipping and exporting.

I was shipping key fobs made from .30-06 cartridges at one point, they almost never made it across the border. Just disappeared.

I would say your odds are not good.

US export/import laws affect the cross border transportation of inert brass cartridges. As far as I know import/export paper work prior to shipping is required. The same applies if you were carrying it across.

I guess an alternative maybe having the cartridge 3D printed to the right dimensions & ship that? Might be good enough for custom dies or a chamber reamer or function check of a firearm... Just a thought...

I think an accurate drawing and an accurate description (make and bullet weight with seated oal) would suffice.

a number of years ago I purchased a 22 hornet, however upon firing I discovered it had been rechambered. At that time for custom dies the manufacturer requested 5 fired casings and I encountered no problems shipping them to the US they came back with the dies. That may have been in the pre bullship years though.

ROTFLMAO have you ever seen a 3D printed part in person?

There is ZERO chance a home printed piece would be suitable.
