Sending my AR to get a flash suppressor?

Hey guys Im not sure if this thread should be in here or in the legalese forum but Im just wondering , I have an AR15 that came without a flash suppressor and I want to send it in to get barrel threaded and have one installed. I know that the lower is what makes this rifle restricted so my question is do I need an att to take just the upper in (or send it away) to get threaded?

No - the upper is just parts. No ATT or anything needed. It's not a firearm!
