I've start tumbling my brass wet with stainless steel pins and the results are amazing. Shiny like new and no need to clean primer pockets. My only problem is separating the pins from the waste water. I tried a fine screen and the pins just go through. I'm wondering what other people are doing.

Magnets in a Ziplock bag are great for getting the wayward little devils back in their houses. :) just pull back on the magnet and the pins fall off the outside of the bag easy peesy!!

I separate it from brass with a media separator. It then sits in the bottom half of the separator and I rinse it and just pour out. The pins are heavy enough and sit on the bottom. You can store them wet.

I use a deep fryer basket form the Dollarama and a small bucket that small enough that the basket just sits on the rim. Fill bucket with water, dump handfuls of clean cases into the fryer basket, swirl the cases around with your hand and the pins fall out into the bucket. Lift the basket out, shake off water, dump on a paper towel lined tray or towel and shake for a few seconds to get the surface water off and set aside to dry. You can speed up the drying by rinsing the brass in hot water at the end then set a fan to blow over the cases. They'll be dry in a couple hours or less.

answer is simple.. (See bold..)

Give your brass a brand-new look. The Frankford Arsenal Stainless Steel Media Pins combined with brass cleaning solution will do the job. The small design of the high-quality 304 stainless steel effectively cleans cases inside and out, as well as inside primer pockets. Ideal for rotary tumbling. Never need to be replaced. Magnetic for easy separation from casings with the Frankford Arsenal Media Release Magnet

Paint strainer from home depot, Rona etc. nylon or cloth whatever they are made of. I use the one for 5 gallon pail, and a cheap 1/4" wire mesh strainer with wire handle from Can Tire, wire one goes in paint strainer, dump brass/pins in wire one, hose and shake, takes about a minute.

In that case... $9. magnetic pick-up tool at Princess Auto.

I just gently pour out the water from the tumbler barrel. Then leave the barrel uncovered to evaporate the little water that's left behind.
