Seperate 10/22 Forum?

My main reason for doing this isn't for the 10/22 users, but for the non-10/22 users. It would result in lowered bickering about the good or bad status of the 10/22, and ultimately would lead to more constructive conversations about 10/22s, 597s, Savages, etc.

As I said before, it's advantageous to both fans and 10/22 pundits.

It's like musical chairs in remedial kindergarten - everybody wins!

Now get out a circle of paper and a safety pencil. :dancingbanana:

Sorry Guys, but after discussing it with the other rimfire moderators we all decided that it is a no go. Nice seing the enthusiasm for the extra forum but here are the reasons why not.

- The rimfire section is one of the smaller sections allready. Subdividing it would make it and the new forum even smaller.

- Many posts will be contradictory as to what section they will be put in. I.e. does a 10/22 verses Rem 597 thread be placed in the 10/22 section or the regular rimfire forum. This would make the jobs for us mods a bit more difficult.

- Other reasons include the fact that there will be crossposting (posting identical threads in each forum to see what people think from both - which is not allowed), and I am just about certain that there will be threds for the 10/22 not in the 10/22 section.

So we will be keeping it as one section for now. Some reccomendations though would be: If you have a specific 10/22 question try www.rimfirecentral.com. This forum board covers the 10/22 in much detail and you will likely be able to have your question answered there. If you would like to find info on where you can find a part or parts for your 10/22 in Canada try doing a search on here. There have been many recent posts about this subject and where you can buy parts, etc.

Thanks,
Jordan

Anything compared to a 10/22 goes into 10/22 section. The search feature will still find it. (You may have to configure the search feature to recognize 10/22.)

Delete/lock double posts as is normal.

I think that the point of the separte 10/22 forum. Canadian answers!

Having said that, I understand that being a mod is not that simple. You guys have a thankless job and have to put up with all the BS. (NO, I AM NOT KISSING ASS!) I am just trying to keep the debate going in hopes you may change your mind.

yes please change your mind. Whats one extra forum?
Really? If you need another mod, im sure you can think of someone who is capable.

Sorry Guys, it is allready decided - not 10/22 forum. Complaining really isn't going to make a difference. As much as you guys may disagree with this I know for sure there are people that are glad it wasn't subdivided. I have been told this by one person allready...
