Tactical Pistol I
The pistol course is designed to improve the shooting and competitive skills of novice to experienced shooters.
Safety and fundamental development are the key principles of this course however participants of all experience levels will benefit from this course.
Participants will receive instruction and range practice involving the following:
•Safety, range safety rules, safe range etiquette.
•Fundamentals of pistol shooting
•Equipment set-up
•Proper firearm manipulation
•Drawing and presentation of the pistol
•Fundamental development and Accurate shooting (Breaking the perfect shot)
•Multiple shots / speed shooting
•Various magazine changes
•Multiple target engagements.
•Positional shooting/shooting from awkward positions
•Movement
•Stage breakdowns and planning
•Barricade shooting
•Developing practice drills
Various drills will be carried out in each of the aforementioned areas that will provide participants with skills and drills that they can practice on their own.
Requirements:
•Eye and Ear protection, baseball cap
•Reliable firearm and at least 3 magazines or 5 speedloaders.
•Belt Holster that covers the trigger guard (no shoulder rigs, race holsters are fine)
•At least two magazine pouches or speedloaders
•500 rounds of reliable ammunition
•Clothing suitable for inclement weather
•Sunscreen
•Concealment vest or jacket (for IDPA draws and magazine changes with retention)
•For service members (LEO and MIL), you may wish to use your duty gear, armour and/ or load bearing equipment.
•Hydrating fluids and snacks
•Booboo kit (band-aids, surgical tape, chapstick, etc)
•Cleaning gear
•Suggested: Notepad and pen, elbow and or knee pads
•Lunch Included
