i picked up a few serbian leather pouches from sportsman guide (item# WX2-590484)

what are the for? i guessed they were for 5 round strippers of a full sized rifle round, but they are about wide enough for 4x 308 rounds and they are about an inch too deep for .308. they are too short for 10 round sks strippers

are they even serbian? the closest thing that fits is 2x 15 round m1 carbine mags, but not very well, they are pretty loose, any ideas?

Pretty sure those are Yugoslavian (Now Serbia etc..) K98k 8mm Ammo pouches.

that looks like em, but mine are pretty tight with a stripper of .308 width wise, maybe just poor tolerances or they are not stretched out yet, thanks guys

If they were truly early Serbian, they may have been built for the 7x57 rounds or one of the earlier black powder cartridges they used.

some have writing in ball point pen, in crylic (sp?) on them, so probably post black powder, its very difficult to research foreign equipment if you don't speak the language.

I have one of those, came with my Yugoslavian M59/66 SKS I bought from Marstar two-ish years ago.

The leather is pretty dry, but it's a neat novelty.

I got this leather mag pouch when I purchased a PPSh-41 smg years ago.
It will not accommodate stick magazines for the PPSh.
The only markings on the pouch are a star- some unidentifiable stamped writing-- and the date 1954.
The photo below shows the leather pouch with MP40 magazines which fit very well.
The canvas pouch shows PPSh stick magazines.
