Series 3 Colt Woodsman Target .22 pistol value?

I am clearing out some of the guns I don't use and have a Series 3 Colt Woodsman Target .22 semi-auto pistol that I would like to sell.

However, I haven't seen any on the EE in quite a while and am at a bit off loss at to what to ask for it.

The serial number places it's manufacture date in early 1961. It's in mint comdtion with literally not a mark on it that I have been
able to find. It also comes with two mags although i don't know if the second mag is an original or not.

They seem to be going for $800-850US stateside although that often doesn't help getting an accurate value for the Canadian market.

Any informed estimates would be appreciated.

Is it a Match Target? I've got a number of different Match targets, first 2nd and 3rd gen, with 4 1/2 and 6" barrels. A third gen in really good condition with two mags I would say $850 on a good day. Depends on how fast you want to sell it. I've got a 1949 Match target with box, papers, 2 mags with a low serial # on it that I paid a bit more than that for, and a rare 4 1/2" from 1974 that is mint that I paid $875 for. They don't come up often, it just depends if somebody is looking for them. Hope that helps. This is my 1949, the original owner custom fitted the original box for it, which is kind of cool. I have another that is 168 different in serial #, same year, that I shoot. I love that the mag release is in the proper place, not on the heel, but finding the correct gen 'tombstone' mags (named for the shape of the button used to depress follower) is impossible, and very pricey when you can find them. I'm lucky to have 3.

Sorry, no. It's a "Target", not a "Match Target". It has the 6" pencil barrel.
 
Ok, it's a Targetsman then? Big difference in price. Probably more in the $600 range, maybe $650 if it is exceptionally nice. This is my mid 60s Targetsman, same as yours?

Yes it was called a Targetsman it has adjustable sights Woodsman had fixed sights. Match Target was the heavy barrel .That was the first handgun I bought at 16 years of age that was sixty years ago paid the grand sum of $50 bucks got a letter from the chief of police and took it home in a paper bag . Great gun.

Yep, adjustable sights. Also has the wooden thumbrest grip. I believe the Woodsman did not come with the thumbrest grip.
 
Yes, same gun, different sights and grips. Last one I sold was 600.oo in VG+ but not minty, a little wear on back strap, a couple marks on one grip M.T. use to run 800-1000, but everything seems to be soft right now. Original box helps.
If the mags are marked colt on the base it is original, if no Colt , aftermarket mag. Mag is 80.oo these days. Or more.
 
Check out what any Woodsman model is selling for in the USA. I think you may all be quite surprised.

I have a new in box never fired made in the last year Series 3 Woodsman Match Target, matching box, all factory docs and sight tool, which has been appraised by the best US Woodsman resource in the industry at $2300USD....$3100CAN.....and as we know there is no handgun freeze or ban on anything south...so no needless hype or price bloating..

And I saw a Tombstone mag for sale on fleebay a couple weeks ago...$249 USD
