I'm looking to sell my blued Series '70 Colt Gold Cup .45 ACP.

The gun is fully tricked out- ambi, aftermarket sights, mag well, beavertail, etc. Currently wearing factory 5" barrel with solid bushing. Extra 6" weighted pin gun barrel, springs.
Low round count on the 5" barrel as I did the bulk of my shooting with the pin gun barrel.

Haven't done a full inventory, but it's quite a package - #### load of mags, mag pouches, holsters, RCBS and Dillon dies, brass.

I prefer to sell as a whole rather than part it out. What price should I ask for it? Note: I said "sell", not "fire sale give away".

For just the pistol itself, it kinda depends on overall condition and what the exterior finish looks like [ie. pics would be better]. IMHO as far as older Colts go, an original unmodified pistol in excellent condition is worth more than one that has been altered to suit the last owner.

As far as a "package deal" goes you'd have to be more specific about how many mags, how much brass, and the condition of the other accessories to determine what the value of all of it would be.

A Colt Series 70 Gold Cup National Match pistol in excellent original condition would be around the $1,250 area for the pistol with one factory magazine.

NAA.

Put it up for what you want, if it doesn't sell, drop the price! I second what NAA is saying though, as painful as it is, when we mod our guns other people rarely are willing to pay any more than they would for a used stock one. When it comes to colts, collectors will not put an offer on one that has been customized period.

I have seen 6 CGCs for sale in the last 10 months..... In fact I have owned a total of 4 in the last 15 months. I just turned one down yesterday, in absolutly beautiful shape (70 series blued CGC) the guy wanted $1500 (they are less than that NIB) I offered $1150. He needed $1300, I walked.

NAA Seems to have it right.

The ones that sold right away were in decent shape in factory condidtion. The sold from $1000 to $1250 (2 -70's and 2 -80's one of the 80's was brushed stainless).

The ones that were a for sale longer were asking the same price as the ones above, but wound up selling for $750 & $850. The one that sold for $750 was in pretty rough shape.... A previous owner had filed notches in front of the trigger guard and on the front strap.

As far as the 'extras' go..... Would need more info on what there is & condition.

Cheers!

CGC & goodies

Thanks, guys! I appreciate the input.

I'll do a thorough inventory and give an honest assessment of the condition of the gun.
It will not be of interest to a collector, but to shooter looking for a class gun with bells & whistles.
The 'package' would start off a newbie with all that he needs.
