Serious issue with new XCR

$ 3000 for this gun , and no quality control, the only reason Canadian are willing to pay this much for RA is because it is Non restricted
 
Wow, a dangerous find. I bought a 10/22 for fun gunning and when I inspected that it had a foot long lenght of zap strap in the barrell. I couldnt see it on initial inspection as it was hugging the sides of the barrell but it slid a half inch into the breach and I found it there. Who knows what may have happened if I shot that. The message of this thread is bang on. Check before you wreck.
 
yikes, must be a Friday rifle, hard to find good help these days.

XCR is $3000 now? better hold on to both my rifles because the price is going up faster than gold, better yet I need to cash in all my investment and buy up the whole shipment from Wolverine.
 
I dont think the rifle was fired after that hole was drilled. I can't imagine that a bullet wouldn't take that burr right out or leave a bunch of jacket behind. I am not saying you should fire the rifle to remove that burr, I wouldn't.

Lol let's call it break in :D There doesn't appear to be any jacket material or damage so I think everyone is right saying it probably wasn't fired after the pinning job. And for the record it was just over $2500 after taxes, not $3000. But still...
 
Didn't you guys hear? RA started doing this to all their rifles to make the .223 cartridge a low powered cartridge, as opposed to a high powered cartridge, in order to appease the anti gun community.

Yeah they through a new barrel on no questions asked. That's why I keep shopping there. None of the others had this problem. Still no response from RA...

I am pretty sure that is the pin from the flash hider protruding. Not a burr from the hole being drilled.
 
I was a little worried after reading this thread as I just received my new M, so had a look tonight and my barrel looks normal. My rifle was from the latest batch that Wolverine got.
 
RA got back to me. Their tech said he has never seen this before and also that they are no longer required to pin the FH/brakes anymore so this won't ever be a problem again. My replacement is pinned but its done properly. I'm just happy to have a complete rifle. The best part was watching my friend sweep her kitchen, hallway and living room with it in a tank top... got bounce? :D
