Based on a High Standard Model HD made for the US military, mostly betwen 1943 and 1946. THIS is the gun that FDR asked for, for use as an assassination weapon in Occupied Europe. The first one built was brought into his office, loaded and fired 10 rounds into the wastebasket. Roosevelt didn't hear a thing. He asked for the gun to be left with him, called a freakin' press conference the next day and made it public! Guess what the Germans spent the rest of the war looking for: totally-silent .22 semi-auto pistols.
Don't bother looking for one of these little sweethearts. You are just a serf: you get to PAY for things like this but Big Brother sez you aren't responsible enough to HAVE one.

I'm with the opinion that it's a Hammerli .22, like a model 208 or so, that someone has just slapped on the 1911 grip panels, the sight and suppressor just for cosmetic purposes for the photo. It is not at all the Hi-Standard pistol.
I think it is more than just something slapped together for a picture. Somebody would have had to have gone to the trouble of making an adapter to take the 1911 grips and I don't think any of them were made with that short of a barrel.
