If anyone's got pictures or comments about yesterday, please post them. I saw some cameras out there on the range!

I messed up the stats yesterday but Timk sorted them out last night; so what's above are correct. I know I'll be reviewing my grade 4 times tables before the next match .

Cheers,
Greg

I have shot many differnt matches over the years, but no one has ever run a faster and smoother match - with lots of explantions on the go - as Tim and his crew.

CBQ is lots of fun. No waiting. You are always doing someing. Shooting, safety man for the other shooter or reloading 7 magazines. (5 rifle, 2 pistol)

Nice scores! Great bunch of guys to shoot with, and good burgers!! :D

Thanks Tim for putting on the usual good show and for putting up with us.. :D

I must say, a small personal kit change from the M&P to the 1911 really helped improve my scores!

Will do, are there any special requirements ? certifications needed prior to attending?

As long as you are safe, and can listen to instructions, there are no certificates, or courses you need.

It is a really, really fun time.

Ganderite, that's great. I would be happy to help you if I can as well.

You will need the following kit

Rifle - with sling. Most like a single point as you can transition to pistol easily.
Pistol
Ammo: about 200 rifle, 50 pistol
Mags: minimum 5 for rifle, 3 or 4 for pistol (you only need two pistol mags, but nice to have spares in case one malfunctions, same for rifle, you need 5, but a couple of spares is good to have)
Holster - level 2 retention or above
Something to hold all your kit, ie. MOLLE kit, mag pouches etc.
Personal kit like water, munchies etc to keep you going

For experience it is probably a good idea if you have had some training or other exposure to this type of shooting, but this is not necessary. The most important thing is SAFETY. Listen to what TimK or Barney are saying, keep the muzzles pointed in a safe direction at ALL TIMES, finger off the trigger unless you are ready to fire at the target. If you are paired up with an experienced bunch of shooters in your relay, they can impart their pearls of wisdom as well. :D

The first time it can be a bit intimidating and frustrating as you learn the timings, load outs, transition etc. However, once you do it a couple of times it is a RIOT.
There are a number of regular shooters who attend these events, and I have to say it is ALWAYS a pleasure to shoot with them. Good shots, good advice, good times.. :D

And I missed all that fun while out here at Whistler!

Looks great , dudes!!

Any snow there ?? LOL
:slap:

Hungry here: I don't really wanna hijack this thread, but there was piles and piles of snow up top around the peak to peak ganjala. Hiking trails up top were all closed, way too much snow leftover. Just did the tourist schtick, took lots of pics and spoke out loud of that last incident when the cable snapped. It's an old Grouse Mountain story we used to resurrect whenever we had lots and lots of newbstick visitors on the tram/car. Yuk yuk yuk
