Service CQB 17 July 2010 CFB Borden, ONT

There was still 6 feet of snow half way up whistler mountain when I was there two weeks ago. Cool to see people skiing in the middle of the winter.

Is there a thread showing what gear you need to attend these shoots? I have done two of the Vintage shoots and really want to take my HK out to play at one of the service matches. Shame to have it sitting in the safe and only shooting 100 meters. :D

Kevin asked "Is there a thread showing what gear you need to attend these shoots?"

The pictures earlier in this thread show what the well-dressed CQBr wears. The minimilist wears a pistol holster, pistol mag holder, rifle mag or stripper clip pouch and a carbine with a sling.

Base Borden: Awesome Shooting Ranges!

Hello,
I am new member here and actually went to an ORA sponsored intro day last Saturday at base Borden too and it was really great! I attended the long rifle, not CQB:(

Actually maybe any1 of you is/are an ORA member and maybe clarify things for a newbie like me.
If i am to apply for membership for ORA and gets approved, do i still need to be a member of a gun club?
Can i just be an ORA member and,
1. Join ORA scheduled activity at Borden,
2. Buy restricted rifles/handguns?
(I have Restricted PAL).

Any comments/suggestions/answers will be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Yes to all the questions - however ORA ATT is restricted to DND ranges where ORA shoots. You will have to get another ATT for regular gun clubs

The next SR match is Aug 21 and 22 at Camp Borden (boredom)

You'll probably want something of a better optic for the HK to do SR with. At 400m that aimpoint ain't gonna cut it. However, it would be OK for CQB stuff. That's all close range.
