OMG  What a great time had by everyone! 32 shooters for the ORA Service CQB Championships....

Many thanks need to go out! Right now I have to run out to my relatives' place for dinner.

Once Maritimer emails me the results from his laptop, I shall 'sanitize' them and post them here.

More thanks have to go out to our Sponsors from CGNutz. TimK will get home and then email his data to me tonight.

In the meantime... post your pics here in this thread. Wow... were we a larger group than the civilians at DCRA's NSCC for Aug 2010 ? Most cool! :)

Awesome man, I had an excellent time for my first time doing a rifle match ... I mostly had difficulty remembering the COFs since everything was so fast, make a mistake and it's very easy to screw up the next snap shot or start fumbling trying to get a mag in while other people have already started shooting. All in all though, I can say it was well worth it and I will be back to learn more and get better

Is Plink having a nap before posting the scores... come on dude.. the suspense is killing me.. i wanna make sure i didnt come in dead last.

Maritimer is doing the scores, I was only helping speed up the process by reading them all out so he doesn't need to be looking and typing at the same time!! :)

Makes it faster so we ain't all sitting around picking our asses while the scores get tallied up.

By the way, I gotta say, I love these events! Nothing better than getting out with a GREAT bunch of folks who have the same enthusiasm for the shooting sports!

And, whats even better is seeing all the young fellas coming out.

They will keep this sport alive long after all us old sh!ts are dust.

It's always great fun shooting these matches..

these guns are not designed to sit in a safe or shoot off a bench.. they need to be shot like we shoot them at CFB Borden on a glorious fall day like today..

there's nothing like the smell of gunpowder mixed with the morning dew, and the sound of gunfire drowning out the song birds..

the beauty of brass casings in the grass ,glistening in the sun..

or my ejected casings bouncing off my teammates face, twinkling in his beard..:D

Plink, you are absolutely right.. some day us old timers will be dust.. and when we are, I hope there's a little bit of brass mixed in.

thanks again to Hungry and TimK for running these things, and to all the others behind the scenes.

You smell that??

Do YOU smell that????????????????

Napalm son.....

That smell... that gasoline smell.... covers the whole hillside.

Smells like......

victory..........

(taken from memory so sorry if it's not "exactly" right) :D :D

pretty good memory for an "old-timer"

s**t! now i gotta go watch the movie.

Bradford, s**t; I'm still only in Bradford ... Every time I think I'm gonna wake up back at base borden.

When I was home after my first match it was worse. I'd wake up and there'd be nothing. I hardly said a word to my wife, until I said "yes" to a divorce. When I was here, I wanted to be there; when I was there, all I could think of was getting back to borden. I'm here a week now... waiting for a match... getting softer.

Every minute I stay in this room, I get weaker, and every minute figure 11, he gets stronger. Each time I looked around the walls moved in a little tighter.

We owe a huge debt to Barney and Tim whose enthusiasm creates and promotes this style of shooting. It is great fun. Wish I did not have 10 thumbs…

I felt like Team Norinco with my M4gery and Sig 226 clone. They performed perfectly.
If you were not there, but are thinking “That looks like fun!” you are right.

What the pictures do not show is that Tim and Barney spend the morning putting us through shooting drills representing all the little stages of the match. We make most of our mistakes in the drills so we can shoot the match more smoothly.

With four relays, there was extra time to relax, pee, drink, take pictures and adjust equipment. Very nice.

Hats off to the organizers for soliciting prizes and to the sponsors for contributing.
