Thanks to the Tim and Barney show for running a fantastic clinic. I learned a heck of a lot this weekend about Service Rifle, working the butts, firearms handling, how the gun and optics work and that the folks involved in this sport are a good bunch. It was great to meet so many nice folks and work and shoot with you guys.

Thanks everyone!

I can second that Dave!

My mental list of lessons learned is a mile long and I will be lucky to get it all written down today. I fired 334 rounds of 7.62x51. Some hit their mark, all of them taught me something with each pull of the trigger. This was my first real range time with my rifle.

The most important thing I came away with is I can now (fairly) confidently adjust my iron sights and hit (occasionally) targets at ranges of -100yds to 500yds. Before this clinic I could not do that, and might as well have thrown the first 100 rounds I fired into woods. Seeing a Fig.11 come up with a orange indicator on it from 500yds with irons felt pretty damn good.

Being new to this, the moment we went from the talking and zeroing portion to the first practice match it was like kicking it into high gear for me. Fumbling with mag changes, trying to remember when to change mags, how many rounds do I have left in this mag? Is there one in the chamber!? :p

Almost as much fun as the shooting was working in the butts, I had no idea what went on down there.

Big thanks to Tim & Barney for such a great weekend, looking forward to my first match.

Awesome SR Clinic, nobody runs a tighter ship than Tim and Barney.
Great job as usual, and thanks Neil for helping out in the butts.
As always I learned a ton and had a great time with a great bunch of shooters, both guys and gals. You learn a ton and get better every time, plus support from your fellow shooters makes the ORA my favorite shooting activities.

I am in awe of Tim's "Scope-Fu"! The Force is strong in this Tim!

Absolutely excellent clinic! Big thanks to Barney and Tim. Extra thanks to Neil for lending himself to aid us all. I learned many things but there was only one thing that I already knew but was strongly reminded of; having fun.
I will be sure to come out for some more SR.

I'll second all the comments above, including the big thanks to Tim, Barney and Neil for a great day. Learned lots, shot lots, so much left to learn. Only bummer was coming home and discovering I'd somehow lost the spring from my takedown pin. If anyone finds an itty bitty spring somewhere between 100 and 500 yards at Amiens... it's mine!!

Yeah, it was a great clinic... and with much appreication to Hungry & TK :)

There was some mention of the need to keep physically fit. With that in mind, I thought I would share a special promotional offer that I stumbled across (I in no way benefit from the sharing of this knowledge).

Perfect Nutrition DIESEL New Zealand Whey Isolate 2 lbs

This whey protien formula is hormone, rBGH, and pesticide free, because the cows have not been given any rBGH or BST Hormones and feed on presticide free meadows.

It is flavoured with real chocolate (and peanuts, if you like), and sweetened with Stevia not sugar or chemicals.

One 30 gram serving scoop delivers 27 grams of protien in 111 calories (note: the body cannot utilize more than 30 grams of protien in a single meal).

The best part is that it can be purchased for $29.99 per 2 pounds, which is $20 off its suggested retail price. I bought enough for free shipping (over $100), only to find out that they are located in my home town... LOL.
