Service rifle competitions?

Hello CGN,

Not a newbie to firearms, but a newbie to the world of competition shooting.

I am interested in doing some 'classic' or 'service rifle' styles of competition (assuming those are the same thing). The variety wherein you run iron sights and military type rifles, none of the speed loading and custom gear. I have seen the desert brutality InRange TV competitions classic division, and this really got me interested in classic competitions.

So, is this a thing here? I visited the service rifle section on the forum but it seemed to be rather quiet, little information was available there as far as I could gleam.

Hoping someone can spoon feed me a little bit here, I don't want to search through posts from 2005-2015 and click on dead links.

I don't see anything specific regarding 'classic' competitions on their website.

I do see 'service rifle' but that seems to involve 500 meter ranges ( Not really my thing if I shooting with iron sights) and the suggestion of optics. None of them really seem to fit the description I was looking for.

I was hoping someone on here might be able to tell me for certain if they are aware of what I am describing, hosted in Ontario.
