Service Rifle Fitness

40 pounds of gear, 500m timed run before your 600-100 rundown. By the way you are carrying a couple of ammo cans full of sand and leap frogging to the 400m mound, climbing in and out of the trench at 300m between exposures.......

Or carry a 200lb dummy and his 40lbs of gear to the 600m point, bomb up your mags in 2mins and start your 600-100 rundown, again with the trenches and the ammo cans and leap frogging. (Bisley and Arkansas both have this match)

What are the timings between mounds? For a bigger guy, a slower weighted run will still be more feasible than an unweighted all out sprint. An F-150 isn't going to compete with a porche if the speed requirement is to go 200km/h (unloaded), but it certainly will if the requirement is 120km/h while pulling a 2 ton trailer. Completely different situations...

Para Cup
Between 4 people drag/carry a 200lb dummy 300m charge your mags (6 mins)
65 sec to leap frog to 500 while carrying weighted ammo cans
1minute shooting
65 sec to leap frog to 400 with same cans
1 minute shooting
65sec to leap frog to 300 with same cans
1 min shooting
30 sec to get out of your trench and run to 200
1 min shooting, stand between exp
25 sec to adopt gas mask
1 min shooting, remove mask
walk to 170m then 20 sec to run to 100m for 1x10 and 5x3 second sec exp, kneeling between exposures.

Whitehead is a 500m in 3 minute run and then 100m in 2 mins (prep time)
500-400 is 40 sec
400-300 is 40sec inc getting into the trench
300-200 is 30sec inc getting out of the trench, standing between all 10 x4 sec exp
and 200-100 is 30 sec. kneeling between all 5 x5 secexp

They also have a match that is pretty much match 12 with all bounds 30 seconds and 2x6 second exposures at each mound.

This is enough to scare a new guy.
Actually as a guy that needs to spend more time on his fitness and weight, this game is a great motivator.
I am really enjoying reading all the treads, and leaning a ton from them.
Thanks for the info, and motivation.

Wait a second?

In SR one has to run 500 m in one sprint?

Negative, in the CAFSAC course of fire you run no more than 100m before shooting one or more 10 round matches, before moving up 100m and doing it again. In the DCRA legacy matches at most you run 400m in about >4 minutes stopping to shoot 2 rounds every 100m.

Sh$t I scored 95 on the coopers test a half dozen years ago.........................ran a 43 minute 10km and Longshot wass still 8 points up on me out of 600 at provincials.

Not that he is gtting chubby or anything.
