Cant remove my castle nut set scew. I dont know if I am using the right allen wrench or not I believe its supposed to be 1/16 but just spins. Under the magnifying glass it does not look stripped. I believe I have all the sizes there are, metric and standard. But none seem to work. Anybody know the proper size. If the socket head is stripped I'll JB weld or epoxy a allen wrench into it and try to get it out that way and sacrifice the screw. Any suggestions on where find a new set screw.

Many of those castle nut set screws are hit and miss. Like you I have both standard and metric allen keys on standby. Sometimes the standard 1/16" allen key works. Often I have to juggle between 1 , 1.5, and 2mm set screws. Go figure...
The solution ? If you are super serious, I just whacked (steel cold chisel and hammer) off the s2pid welded chinese flash suppressor and installed a USGI (commercial or Springfield M1A) version. That needs an American castle nut set screw ($ 3.00 from 762firearms. c o m ) and I happened to have a spare USGI front sight.
With the USGI castle nut set screw, life was predictable (read: 1/16" allen key is your friend) when it came to pulling off the flash suppressor for further tweaks or cleaning.

I have found that the older (2007) set screws were 1.5mm which is not really a standard size that you will find on most sets.
Something else that you can try if you are really in a bind is a torx driver. These are slightly tapered and are 6 sided so you can use one in a pinch.

Thanks, took D-Rocks advice and ground one down to fit. Got it out O. K. Hungry I'm interested in that sight and a G.I. flash hider if you still have them, as mine is that stupid non vented hider. Its making my d--k feel a little loose, waiting for the resounding thud as it hits the floor.

Nope, I don't have them , the flash suppressors with the bayonet lug for around $ 100. BUT they can be ordered quite easily from w w w.762firearms.com if you have a credit card.
Not a controlled (ITAR) item (yet). Maybe I should not give them any ideas.Cheers,
