ok I am new to reloading and I am trying to get a set up. I got a used Hornaday Pro-Jector and I want to reload 9mm pistol to start. The press is in great shape and ALMOST complete. It didn't have a powder measure with it. It does have a tube that threads into a station and has small brass funnels that slide down it. To line up the case for the powder.

Here is my Question: Can I buy ANY powder measure to thread into the top of that tube? Or do I have to get the 1 that came with it?

Any help would be great.

That one is a stand alone powder measure. It is manually operated and not designed as it is, for a progressive reloader. You can still use this, manually operated, with a powder through die, but the case mouth will not be "belled". My Pro-Jector had a similar powder measure that had a linkage that actuated the drop lever automatically.

I think it is a better solution. You will need the "powder through die" or the "rifle charginG die", if you don't have one. Call FS reloading and their tech should be able to tell you. This measure will drop powder automatically when a casing is pushed up through the "through die". No casing, no powder drop. It will bell your case mouth as well, simply adjust the "powder through die" up or down to produce the minimum amount of belling that will allow the bullet to seat smoothly without shaving.
 
Look at the Hornady lock and load press. The powder measure it comes with is available seperately from what i hear and it is easy to use and works great. If you can't find one, send an email to Henry at Budget Shooter Supply. If it exists, he'll get it for you. The whole press is only 450 or so so I would bet you could get the powder measure for around 100 or less

So this will thread into the press station? I cant see the threads in the picture. I was looking at this and it is cheaper than the RCBS

Yes, the Pro Auto Disk will thread into the Powder Through Die. The PTD in turn will screw into your press "station".

My suggestion is to buy both the Pro-Auto Disk and 9mm pistol 4-die set. This will include the Powder Through Die (which includes a powder funnel that also bells the case mouth) as well as a Factory Crimp Die.

The Pro-jector had 5 die stations, IIRC, because I think it had a separate station for case mouth belling, trying to remember cos its been so long.

Anyways, using the Lee PTD and PAD on the Powder Drop station, two operations are performed: case mouth belling and powder drop.
 
I am just about to place the order but I had a thought... This lee 4 die set, is it carbide? I was told I have to buy carbide
