setting iron sights on a 94

well picked up a winny 94 ae a, like and wasn't going to mount a scope but today at the range all shots were way high, 8 inches high at 25 yds and like 15 inches high at 100yds and I had the rear sight all the way down, I removed the ramp altogether and was still 4 inches high at 25 yds and 10 inches high at 100 yds the front was replaced at one time and I am thinking is to high, my windage was fine

Front sight would be too LOW if it's shooting high...
What's your sight picture? 6'oclock hold?

If the rifle is shooting high, you need a taller front sight.

ok, just did a google search and it looks like the rear and front are not original
